Industrial Painter / Sandblaster
Location:
NE Portland, OR
Pay: $30–$35/hr DOE
Schedule:
Day Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM | Swing Shift: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Who We Are:
Opti Staffing is hiring an experienced Industrial Painter / Sandblaster for a busy fabrication shop in NE Portland. This is a hands‑on position working with steel products, surface preparation, sandblasting, and industrial coatings. We’re looking for someone with strong industrial sandblasting and painting experience who can work safely and independently in a physically demanding shop environment.
- Sandblast steel products in accordance with SSPC standards
- Prepare steel and other surfaces to receive coatings
- Apply liquid industrial coatings to steel products
- Assist with both sandblasting and coating operations
- Operate forklifts and blast recovery equipment
- Maintain sandblasting, painting, and shop equipment
- Work under minimal supervision
- Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
- Work overtime as required
- $30–$35/hr DOE

- Hands-on sandblasting experience is required
- Industrial painting/coating experience
- Experience preparing and coating steel products

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Strong safety habits and attention to detail
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- 3+ years of industrial sandblasting experience
- Sandblasting experience is required
- Industrial painting/coating experience
- Experience working with steel products
- Knowledge of SSPC standards
- Safe and reliable work habits
- Ability to work in a physically demanding shop environment
- Forklift experience
- Blast recovery equipment experience
- Experience with liquid industrial coatings
- Fabrication shop experience
