Orchid Orthopedic Solutions seeks a Metal Finishing & Polishing Technician to support precision manufacturing of orthopedic implants and instruments. In this role, you will perform deburring, manual and mechanical polishing, buffing, and surface finishing on metals to meet strict medical device specifications. You will read blueprints, follow detailed work instructions, and use gauges and microscopes to verify dimensions and surface quality.
Working in a clean, safety- and quality-focused environment, you will collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality staff to solve problems, improve processes, and ensure products meet FDA and ISO standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and mechanical metal finishing, deburring, and polishing on orthopedic implants and instruments
- Set up and operate polishing, buffing, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to meet surface finish and dimensional requirements
- Inspect parts using gauges, microscopes, and other metrology tools to verify quality and specifications
- Document work performed and complete production and quality records accurately
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA, and ISO procedures and support audits as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
- Work with engineers, machinists, and quality staff to resolve issues and improve finishing processes
- Monitor equipment performance, perform basic maintenance, and report issues promptly
