Manual Machinist
Location:
Northeast Portland, OR Pay: $25-$30/hr
Schedule:
7-3:30PM
Opti Staffing is partnering with a manufacturing and fabrication company based in Northeast Portland. They take pride in producing high-quality parts for their customers and are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join their team.
We are known for:
- Our diverse skill sets, servicing industries ranging from silicon wafer handling and production to concrete handling and material processing.
- Repairing and manufacturing parts and assemblies for forklifts, excavators, conveyors, ships, railroads, the food processing industry, lumber mills, and logging operations.
- Finding creative solutions to complex customer challenges through precision machining and fabrication.
- Our research and development work, helping customers improve equipment performance, extend component life, and solve unique production issues.
- Operate a variety of manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts while ensuring all work is completed accurately and within specification.
- Operate manual mills, manual lathes, and drill presses.
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications.
- Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet required tolerances.
- Make adjustments throughout the machining process as needed.
- Work with various shop equipment and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Produce quality parts while meeting production requirements.

- 3+ years of manual machining experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual mills and manual lathes.
- Experience operating drill presses and other shop equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent overall manual machining knowledge.
- Experience independently setting up manual machines.
- Experience with a variety of shop equipment and tooling.
- Strong measuring and inspection skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
