Summary

The Production Manager oversees the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of printed circuit board (PCB) orders. This role is responsible for managing work orders, ensuring material availability, optimizing capacity planning, and coordinating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Shipping. The Production Control Manager plays a critical role in driving on-time delivery, improving workflow, and enhancing visibility across the production floor using ERP/MRP systems

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Oversee the issuance, tracking, and closure of work orders across all manufacturing departments.
  • Lead and supervise the Production Control team (Planners, Schedulers, Expeditors).
  • Monitor production flow and adjust schedules to address bottlenecks, labor constraints, or equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering to communicate lead times and order status updates.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Manage ERP/MRP systems for accurate work order management, BOM accuracy, and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of WIP (work-in-progress), finished goods, and raw materials.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and report key KPIs (e.g., OTD, WIP aging, backlog status).
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes with minimal disruption to existing schedules.
  • Enforce adherence to Westak’s policies and procedures regarding scheduling, priority setting, and production control.
Education and Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning or production control in a PCB or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of production workflows, lead times, and PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • APICS/CPIM or similar supply chain certification.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Must be able to walk production areas regularly to evaluate workflow and WIP.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (paperwork, samples, office supplies).
  • Visual acuity to read printed materials and electronic screens.
Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $ per year DOE
