What you will do:The Assistant Brand Manager supports the Category Growth Manager by executing category initiatives that drive growth. This role owns day to day category analytics and reporting, serving as the team’s expert in Circana, 84.51, and Symphony to answer business questions, track performance, and maintain monthly and quarterly reporting.
The ABM supports product innovation and renovation projects by translating consumer and category insights into clear recommendations and helping manage initiatives from concept through post launch evaluation. The role also enables Sales execution by developing insights, presentations, and selling materials that clearly communicate category strategy and product value.
This position requires a highly organized, results driven team player who can manage multiple projects, work cross functionally, and turn data into actionable insights that support growth.
Here’s a day in the life:- Analyze competitor & category dynamics to inform business decisions and provide recommendations to the Category Growth Manager and broader leadership team.
- Provides inputs for strategic planning for the annual operating plan and long range plan.
- Complete monthly reporting including sales and consumer data analysis, trend research, competitive profiling, distribution gap analysis and more.
- Assists in updating tools, resources and training programs that empower the sales team to effectively communicate the value proposition of new products, innovation or strategies.
- Collaborates with Consumer & Market Insights team to conduct thorough market analysis and consumer research to identify trends, preferences and opportunities for growth.
- Utilizes consumer insights to inform project execution, ensuring alignment with consumer needs and pain points.
- Assists the Category Growth Manager by executing the objectives to drive new products and categories to market.
- Collaborates with various departments such as R&D, marketing, supply chain, and sales to ensure seamless execution of category initiatives and innovation projects.
- Support (may lead) product development projects, from conception to implementation, often in collaboration with a project manager, ensuring timelines, budgets and objectives are met.
- Assists the Category Growth Manager in executing category opportunities around product assortment, pricing approach, portfolio optimization, etc. Supports on packaging improvements and new platform development.
- Understands category/segment P&L, may work with cross-functional partners to develop recommendations on product pricing, margins, and effectively manage variances to profit.
- Utilize MS Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, innovation, general management, or new product development. MBA with no relevant experience is also acceptable.
- Hands on experience in analyzing and deriving insights from data sets.
- Ability to translate data insights into compelling storytelling/business narratives.
- Comfortable presenting in front of a professional peer set.
