Role Description- The team member in this position is a skilled major gifts fundraiser with the strong ability to establish, cultivate, and steward strong professional relationships with donors.
- The Donor Engagement Officer will spend a significant amount of time interacting with donors, managing an active portfolio of approximately 100‑125 donors.
- This is a full‑time, exempt position based in Oregon. While most staff work remotely for the majority of their time, this role requires regular in‑person engagement for donor meetings, events, and team activities, as well as periodic travel within Oregon.
This position is part of our Development team and plays a central role in advancing our fundraising efforts. This position works closely, collaboratively, and supportively with all areas of the ACLU of Oregon.
What are the qualifications required for this position?We are looking for individuals with the following experience, abilities, and values:
- Required:
four plus (4+) years of fundraising soliciting, closing, and stewarding charitable or political gifts. - Required:
proficiency with donor databases, research tools, and fundraising‑related technology, or the demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly. - Strongly preferred: knowledge of and values alignment with Community‑Centric Fundraising principles and practices.
- Required values: a demonstrated ability to support the goals, priorities, and values of the ACLU of Oregon, including the following values related to building work‑related relationships and trust.
- Equivalent education and/or experience: we will consider applicants who can demonstrate non‑traditional work‑related experiences comparable to more direct forms of work experience or education.
- Candidates who meet the qualifications of other positions: sometimes, candidates may not meet the qualifications of this position but may have qualifications to meet another position at the ACLU of Oregon; we may offer candidates the opportunity to consider another position with the ACLU of Oregon, and we reserve this organizational right within our sole discretion.
