Purpose
:
To grow and retain membership base of EPCC by being ‘the face’ of the Chamber. This role requires networking, making connections, following up with potential members, and making sure existing members feel heard and seen.
Time commitment
:
This role requires 5-10 hours a week of flexible time, which will include many happy hours and other networking events. The role will also require responding to emails, answering phone calls, and reporting time/progress.
Compensation
:
Due to the complexity and flexibility this role requires, compensation will be a combination of a monthly stipend and a commission based on new members earned. The director will be paid a stipend of $800/month as an independent contractor. In addition, the director will be awarded a commission of 10-20% of any new, directly acquired membership dues. The director will also be eligible for bonuses based on the quantity and level of new members gained, to be reviewed and awarded on a quarterly basis.
Roles and responsibilities
:
The main role of the executive director is to work actively to grow and maintain Chamber Membership through direct outreach and networking. Some specific duties are as follows:
- Attend EPCC hosted events to develop relationships with existing and potential members
- Attend events put on by our liaison organizations and outside networking events with the intent of spreading the word about EPCC
- Maintain EPCC’s social media efforts to include posting about events, posting during events, and responding to comments/inquiries (Could also include browsing and sharing/liking/commenting on liaison organization posts and events, etc)
- Membership Development – respond to membership inquiries via email and phone call (Could also include one-on-ones with existing and potential members)
- Reports to the board of directors by attending monthly board and executive committee meetings and presenting regular reports of activities, status of potential members, and social media progress reports
- Supports the Development and Outreach committee by developing meeting agendas and working with committee members on projects
- The applicant is required to provide their own equipment for email management and phone calls, as well as providing their own reliable transportation to events and meetings.
