Overview
This VISTA project will build the organizational capacity needed to sustain and scale the Community Investment Trust (CIT), an innovative model that expands access to commercial real estate ownership for low-income communities. By strengthening systems, tools, and infrastructure, the project will support both the long-term sustainability of the East Portland CIT and the effective national expansion of the model.

The Ameri Corps VISTA member will build organizational capacity to support the sustainability and national expansion of the Community Investment Trust (CIT) model. They will standardize training and feasibility study materials, develop onboarding and launch systems for new CIT sites, and create tools to support equitable community engagement. The VISTA member will also strengthen data collection and impact reporting systems, organize internal workflows, and document processes to ensure long‑term continuity.
Their work will improve internal infrastructure so low-income residents can access investment opportunities and build wealth through shared ownership of local commercial real estate.
