Job Summary

This role involves managing KDUP's student volunteers, including recruitment, training, and task assignment. Responsibilities also encompass coordinating station promotions, supporting events, ensuring program quality, and fostering a positive volunteer experience through communication, feedback, and social media engagement.

Core Duties
  • Collaborate with KDUP team members in setting goals and objectives for the radio station
  • Communicate regularly with KDUP staff to conceptualize, develop and execute productive assignments for volunteers
  • Oversee all student volunteer activity, including tracking attendance and ensuring assigned tasks are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Promotions Director to coordinate and distribute KDUP promotional items
  • Work closely with Events Coordinator to provide promotional and logistical support for events
  • Work closely with Programming Director to check and maintain radio show quality
  • Work closely with Music Director to assign station volunteers to attend local Portland concerts and festivals and document and review their experience
  • Coordinate the communication process of volunteer and station opportunities to interested students (from Activities Fair, KDUP events, etc.)
  • Update the volunteer (Street Team) Facebook page and other relevant social media channels
  • Create, organize, and distribute the KDUP Zine twice per semester
  • Collects student feedback about KDUP's programming
  • Work closely with Program Director to develop DJ talent pool
  • Attend KDUP trainings, meetings and events
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required:

    Minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA to apply
  • Required:

    Attending weekly staff meetings
  • Required:

    Attending at least 3 volunteer meetings per semester
  • Required:

    Hold 2 office hours each week
  • Required:

    All staff are expected to attend and help with set up and tear down for all KDUP events
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    High attention to detail and working within an assigned budget
  • Preferred:
    Effective, timely, and professional communication to students, faculty/staff, and external vendors
  • Preferred:
    Prior experience with music/radio stations, or an interest in learning
Physical Requirements
  • Preferred:
    Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and push heavy equipment on wheeled cart
