This position joins Oregon Health Authority's statewide Ameri Corps VISTA team in service  addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team meetings, and support from VISTA team leaders and project director. The Western Oregon Center for Pediatric Therapeutic Lifestyle Change is more commonly known as the SNACK program. SNACK's mission is to support the health and well-being of children and families in Yamhill County through child-centered, weight-neutral nutrition education embedded in trusted community spaces, supporting the development of lifelong healthy habits. We prioritize equitable access and honor the cultural and socioeconomic needs of the families we serve.

This role offers a $500 professional development stipend, Portland Community College's "Introduction to Grant Writing" course, access to Volunteer Management 101 online course, a Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising from Non Profit Ready .org and other resources. Member Duties :
The Ameri Corps member will increase access to nutrition education for low-income children and families by building diversified funding streams and scalable program delivery systems that support long-term sustainability and expansion of the Student Nutrition & Activity Clinic for Kids (SNACK) program. The member will expand program delivery to additional sites by standardizing materials and systems. The member will also contribute to community engagement by developing and nurturing partnerships.

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to develop skills in grant writing, resource development, quality improvement, and community engagement. Ameri Corps VISTA members serve Oregonians through indirect service and capacity building, meaning the work you will do is the behind-the-scenes work. You will serve in a professional office, with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week. Ideal applicants will have experience with Google Workspace, project planning, writing and editing.
