The Development Partnerships & Operations Manager is a key member of the Development Team at Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI). This position supports both philanthropic revenue generation and the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the Development Department. The Manager is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and individual donors while also overseeing critical development operations functions that support fundraising success.

The Development Partnerships & Operations Manager works collaboratively across the organization to strengthen donor engagement, coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, support donor communications, and ensure a high level of service for donors, funders, volunteers, and community partners. This position also serves as a key operational resource for the Development Team by helping manage departmental systems, workflows, and stakeholder communications while supporting the successful implementation of fundraising initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who is equally comfortable cultivating philanthropic support and managing operational details. They are highly organized, customer service-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities while contributing to the achievement of departmental fundraising goals and the overall success of SEI's mission.

Responsibilities:
Partnership & Portfolio Management
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate partners, sponsors, and individual donors.
  • Cultivate, steward, solicit, and renew philanthropic relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sponsorship, workplace giving, employee engagement, and volunteer partnerships.
  • Develop individualized engagement strategies for assigned prospects and donors.
  • Partner with leadership on cultivation and solicitation efforts.
  • Track portfolio progress and revenue goals.
Donor Communications & Stewardship
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of donor communications, including emails, newsletters, direct mail, and stewardship outreach.
  • Respond to donor and funder inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Develop donor-facing materials and stewardship tools.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders engaging with the Development team.
Events & Engagement
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical aspects of fundraising events.
  • Manage event registration systems and attendee tracking.
  • Support event preparation, execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Oversee event-related stewardship and donor engagement activities.
  • Coordinate volunteer and sponsor engagement related to fundraising events.
Development Operations & Team Support
  • Support implementation of development systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Manage the Development Team inbox and route inquiries appropriately.
  • Assist in maintaining departmental procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Finance regarding gift processing procedures and reconciliation workflows.
  • Support onboarding and training of the Development Operations Coordinator.
  • Monitor operational needs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, development operations, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, community partners, or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop donor-facing materials and communications.
  • Experience coordinating events, projects, campaigns, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to building positive relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency with CRM databases and constituent management systems; experience with Raiser's Edge NXT preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
