CAP Northwest is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Manager of Events & Corporate Sponsor ships. As the Manager of Events & Corporate Sponsor ships (MECS) for CAP Northwest, you will plan, manage, and execute a diverse range of revenue-generating events designed to engage donors and promote awareness of our mission: to advance compassionate, whole-person care for LGBTQ+ people and those impacted by HIV.
The primary events in FY27 are the CAP Art Auction, AIDS Walk Northwest, and Dining Out for Life, among other community engagement touchpoints. The MECS is part of the CAP Northwest Advancement Team, which focuses on community engagement, events, and donor investment, and includes the Senior Director of Advancement, Individual Giving Manager, Advancement Systems Manager, and Community Engagement Manager.
As a member of the leadership team, this role plays a pivotal part in our collective fundraising efforts, contributing to the organization's combined event fundraising goal exceeding $1.35 million for FY27.This is a full-time position based at our Davis St. location in Portland’s Old Town neighborhood. While the primary work location will be Davis St., this role will also require regular travel throughout the Portland Metro area.
The typical weekday schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, the position also requires regular evening and weekend work to support events and other program needs. The schedule may vary based on event and organizational requirements.
The yearly salary for this position is a range of $80,000-$85,000 depending on experience.
1st Round interviews will be held on October 6th and October 8thWho You Are Five or more years’ experience in each of the following areas:
Proven leadership in the planning and execution of events grossing $500,000 or more.
Executing a wide variety of event modalities including galas, outdoor events, small fundraisers, etc.
Soliciting corporate sponsor ships and managing partner benefits
Leading the creation and rigorous management of event budgets
Planning an Events Model for a Non-Profit Agency to ensure service to the full community.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Experience managing projects in a management tool like Asana.
Excellent relationship-building skills with both external partners and internal colleagues.
Demonstrated success working with populations across multi-dimensional diversity (race, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran, and other protected groups)
Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid Driver’s License.
What You’ll DoLead the planning and execution of CAP Northwest’s signature fundraising events, managing event strategy, timelines, logistics, internal coordination, vendors, and implementation from concept through completion.
Develop and manage corporate sponsorship strategies and relationships for agency events and organizational priorities, including prospecting, solicitation, proposal development, negotiation, fulfillment, stewardship, renewal, and growth…
