Job Summary

This is a Community Service Work Study student employment position. Applicants must have Federal Work Study funds in their Financial Aid package.

We are a femme-centered, gender-specific community that serves those most impacted by gender oppression. Our holistic approach includes meeting essential needs such as food, clothing, showers, laundry, and safety while bolstering long term empowerment through emotional support, wellness activities, and connection to resources and community.

We offer low-barrier services in a brand new trauma-informed space to guests who trust us and value their relationships with our community of staff, interns and volunteers. The Development & Marketing Associate plays a vital role at Rose Haven, responsible for supporting our Development Department in digital marketing and outreach, and special events. The objective of this role is to maintain and build relationships to secure increased resources for Rose Haven.

Core

Duties
  • Represent Rose Haven professionally and communicate our mission to the community, including to volunteers and donors with emails, social media, events and more.
  • Work with guests to tell positive stories and change the narrative around poverty and houselessness.
  • Communicate agency needs externally by writing promotional copy and creating graphics and other content for digital marketing campaigns as needed.
  • Assist with fundraising and guest event set up, promotion and execution.
  • Table at community events and fundraisers to heighten awareness of our mission and network with community leaders and potential donors.
  • Assist with development interns and committees as needed .
  • Organize marketing assets and maintain development calendar and spreadsheets.
  • General in-office administration including scheduling, note-taking, file organization, and meeting preparation.
  • Represent the mission and values of Rose Haven to guests, staff, volunteers, community partners, and the public.
  • Assist with direct service programs and guest events as needed.
  • Support with in‑kind donations as needed by Development Department.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have Federal Work Study Funds in Financial Aid package (contact finaid with questions)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to receive and implement directions and feedback
  • Effective communication skills (asks clarifying questions for understanding and follows up to confirm task completion)
  • Dependable and takes initiative
  • Support of the mission, values, principles and community agreements of Rose Haven
  • Demonstration of cultural humility toward diversity of human experience including race, religion, ethnicity, mental and physical abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, education and cultural heritage
  • Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Flexibility to move between different work spaces and computers
  • Functional knowledge of Google Workspace
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lived experience related to mental health, substance use, housing insecurity, and/or being part of a marginalized community
  • Bilingual (American Sign Language, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese language skills are particularly valued)
