Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Grants Administration Coordinator for an established philanthropic foundation dedicated to strengthening communities through grantmaking and charitable initiatives. This opportunity is based in Portland, Oregon .
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Grants Administration Coordinator provides essential operational support throughout the grantmaking process, with a strong focus on data accuracy, compliance, and nonprofit customer service. This role manages grantee information, conducts due diligence research, supports grant processing, and communicates directly with nonprofit partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

- Work directly with nonprofit organizations and cross‑functional internal teams
- Enter, review, and maintain grant recommendations, grantee information, and records while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct due diligence and compliance research on current and prospective grantees in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate grant processing workflows, including award and decline communications, approvals, evaluations, mailings, and grantee correspondence.
- Provide responsive customer and technical support to nonprofit organizations while partnering with internal teams.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, meeting materials, communications, portal updates, and administrative needs during peak grant cycles.
- Contribute to improvements in grants administration processes, systems, documentation, policies, and data-cleanup efforts.
- Experience in data entry, compliance, grants administration, customer service, or administrative support; nonprofit or philanthropic experience is preferred.
- Experience working with integrated databases or data management systems with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, work independently, and adapt to changing needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- This temporary opportunity offers $24.00–$25.00 per hour , depending on experience, and is anticipated to last up to six months.
- The position is approximately 37.5 hours per week , and client-provided equipment will be supplied.
