American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/IMC position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and an active OR RN license.

Job Details

• Cardiac Intermediate Care (IMC) unit within a short-term acute care hospital,

• Patient population includes cardiology (ACS, NSTEMI, HF management, pre/post cath care, arrhythmia management), electrophysiology (pacemaker placement), cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, TAVR), vascular surgery (amputations, fem-pop bypass), and advanced heart failure (pre/post heart transplant, VAD, inotrope support),

• Patient ratio is 1:4,

• Shift: nights, 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week),

• 4 weekend shifts required per month,

• No on-call responsibilities,

• Floating required within scope to acute care and IMC settings; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation,

• Charting performed in Epic (highly preferred),

• Safe patient mobilization equipment, including ceiling lifts, available in the majority of patient rooms,

• 13-week contract with the possibility of extension,

Job Requirements

• Active OR RN license required; pending licensure accepted if application has been submitted and received by the licensing board to qualify for the 90-day license exemption,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry nursing experience required,

• Epic EMR experience highly preferred,

• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references are not acceptable); if a second reference within 24 months is unavailable, a reference within 3-5 years may be accepted with documented justification,

• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted,

Additional Information

• Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital,

• Provider coverage is dependent on the primary team; all teams have an on-call provider available 24/7, and most teams have a provider in-house 24/7,

• Scrubs of any solid color are required (no prints); scrubs are provided,

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction applies,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from their OHSU supervising manager, which will be reviewed by the hiring manager,

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler,

• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for a 13-week assignment or 7 days for an 18-week assignment; any approved time off exceeding 5 days must be added to the end of the contract to fulfill the full assignment length,

• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and may not exceed 2 consecutive weeks,

• Public transportation is highly encouraged; daily parking passes are available for $16 (required between 8am-5pm only)
