Doernbecher (DCH) 9S Pediatric Acute Care Surgical (PACS) is a 24-bed unit providing evidence-based, acute care for pediatric patients and their families from birth to young adulthood. Services that admit to DCH 9S PACS include and are not limited to:
General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and General Peds overflow.

Our Mission: DCH 9S PACS is a people-centered, interdisciplinary, team-based system of coordinated patient care. The team will provide individualized, excellent care for all pediatric patients by working together with departments and specialists across Doernbecher and OHSU to ensure every patient and family receive the right care, at the right place and at the right time by the right people.
Function/Duties of Position
The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [O'Rourke Model of the Professional Role].

Required Qualifications
* BSN Graduates:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
* ADN Graduates:
Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
* Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
* Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
* BLS and PALS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
* 2 years inpatient pediatric RN experience
• Pediatric psychiatric experience preferred
• CPN certification or other applicable pediatric specialty certification
• Self-reflective, self-directed learner who achieves progressive growth
• Identify gaps in knowledge and initiate seeking resources to identify and manage risks and practice safely with a wide variety of patient populations
• Able to advance plan of care
• Excellent time management
• Integrate into a high functioning and collaborative team
