RN – Wound Ostomy *Per Diem

Position Summary

RN Wound Ostomy – Providence Portland Medical Center. Per‑diem, part‑time position, weekdays, day shift. This role supports inpatient and outpatient wound, ostomy, and continence care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Craft personalized wound, ostomy, and skin care plans guiding patients from hospital to home.
• Educate patients and empower them to manage their care confidently.
• Train and support nursing staff across the hospital in best practices for wound, ostomy, and incontinence skin care.
• Lead quarterly Skin Prevalence studies and serve as the Skin Care Resource Nurse.
• Provide ongoing support through the outpatient ostomy clinic, including expert stoma site markings and follow‑up care.
• Act as a clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders including complex drains, fistulae, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, ostomies, percutaneous tubes, and moisture‑related skin injuries.
• Deliver direct patient care, clinical consultation, education, research, and administration throughout the hospital including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic.
• Serve on regional patient care committees.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Oregon Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association certification.
• Current certification in wound ostomy nursing, dual specialty (CWON) or obtaining CWON certification within 12 months of hire.
• Two years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably including wound and ostomy care.

• Pay Range: $46.54 – $72.26 (base). Shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, and bonuses available.
