Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
- Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Works directly with physicians and staff in coordinating excellent patient care; registered nurses function as the primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
- Performs patient assessment and triage either in person or over the phone, and documents all encounters for provider review, flagging any urgent concerns.
- Performs clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty; may include vitals, medication verification, wound care, phlebotomy, injections, oral and/or IV medications.
- Provides patient and family health education; orders prescription refills according to clinic protocol.
- Assists physicians with procedures according to prescribed standards and anticipates the needs of the physician.
- Orders and maintains medical inventory supplies as needed; checks emergency medication and IV trays regularly and supports the QA/QI process.
- Cross‑trained in multiple areas or assigned additional clinic duties (e.g., supply management, safety coordinator). Serves as a subject matter expert.
- Acts as a resource regarding workflow, policies and procedures, trains new and existing staff, and assists in evaluating staff efficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Assists in coordinating daily rooming assignments, cross coverage, and coverage assistance throughout the day.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hiring range: $50.05 – $67.71 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
Workdays: Typical hours are 36 per week, Monday‑Friday (7:30 am‑5:30 pm), with a weekday off TBD; a half‑day commitment on Saturday (8:00 am‑12:00 pm) approximately once every two months.
QualificationsQualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience, and values including:
- Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting;
Internal Medicine & Pediatrics experience is a plus. - Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire; ACLS may be required by specialty.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record experience strongly preferred;
Epic experience a plus. - Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- A commitment to patient‑focused care, privacy, and safety.
