American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for an ambulatory care coordinator role requiring 3-4 years of recent oncology experience and an active Oregon RN license.
Details- Ambulatory Oncology Radiation Clinic setting on the Main Campus, Kohler 4th floor
- Serves patients within Radiation Oncology in collaboration with a large multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Hematologic Malignancies, Gynecology Oncology, Infusion Services, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Case Management
- Patient populations include Hematologic Malignancies (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Transplant, CAR-T, TIL, DLI), Medical Oncology (Sarcoma, Head and Neck, Breast, Lung, GI/GU, Prostate, CNS), both adult and pediatric patients, and non-oncology diagnoses requiring radiation treatment
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30
- Variable work schedule and variable work location within the department
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required
- EMR:
Epic (experience required) - Work environment includes multi-tasking, frequent interruptions, and potential exposures to noise, human tissues/fluids, hazardous medications, and radiation
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required;
Washington (WA) RN license also required - BLS certification (AHA Traditional; RQI not accepted)
- ACLS certification preferred
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred, OR completion of 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours per accreditation cycle per Commission on Cancer requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent oncology experience required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ambulatory care coordination experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- COVID vaccination required — no exemptions
- Two manager or supervisor references from an employer within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted)
- Full date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Copies of certifications (BLS/ACLS) required
- Work history verification covering the last seven years required, including city, state, dates of employment, and any PTO periods
- Serves as an Ambulatory Oncology Clinical RN Coordinator, managing care coordination across multiple oncology specialties and support services
- Core clinical skills include psychosocial care, patient/family education and support, symptom management, and advanced directives
- Preferred skills include hospice care, altered mental status management, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, wound care, radiation safety precautions, and conscious sedation experience
- Relias competency exams required with a minimum passing score of 85%
- Background check is conducted through an advanced reporting system and includes a comprehensive, lifetime review — no background or license history issues accepted
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler; a reference from the supervising OHSU manager is also required for returning candidates
- RTO must be declared upfront and may not exceed 2 weeks for the duration of the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
