American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric/Neonatal Mobile ICU Transport position requiring flight and/or mobile transfer experience along with active OR and WA/Compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in a children's hospital PICU transport program covering neonatal and pediatric patients
- Transport team consists of one RN and one RT per shift, based out of the facility
- Team transports patients from outside facilities throughout Oregon and SW Washington via ground, fixed-wing, or rotor transport
- Transports are guided by a physician and may include facility-to-facility transfers under contracted partnerships
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
- Required to work a minimum of every third weekend, with occasional extra weekend shifts as needed
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Active OR RN license and WA/Compact RN license required prior to starting (temporary 90-day OR license available upon request if needed)
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a fully oriented, working neonatal/pediatric transport RN with strong NICU/PICU skills
- Flight and/or mobile transfer experience required for interview consideration
- Prefer 2+ years of pediatric transport RN experience
- Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Strong respiratory skills including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and interpretation of ABGs
- Experience with emergency medications including IV vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, and continuous sedation
- Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with cardiovascular monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Additional skills including intubation and UVC/UAC placement
- Complete flight training as part of orientation through a contracted vendor to meet transport program requirements
- Provide critical care nursing support during neonatal and pediatric transports across multiple facilities
- Scrub color may be any color except black or camo, with scrubs provided for the Pediatric Transport team
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Local candidates are not accepted and candidates may not reside within 50 miles of any facility location within the health system
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager required, preferably within the last year
- No felony convictions accepted
