American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMCU/Step Down position requiring OR compact RN licensure and higher-acuity care experience including ventilator and titrated drip management.

• Work in the Step Down/IMCU unit of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Care for higher-acuity intermediate care patients, including trach and ventilator patients and complex cardiac and respiratory cases
• Patient ratios of 1:3 and 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between units and sister facilities required based on skill set
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active RN license (Compact) in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and tracheostomy management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips
• Insulin drip titration experience preferred
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Epic EMR experience required

• Provide direct care to intermediate/step-down level patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Scrubs of any color accepted for general units; OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility
• Teaching hospital environment with 536 total staff beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel candidate and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• No fee parking available on-site
