Description:

Secure Residential Treatment Programs serve adults living with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who have a history of institutionalizing in the state hospital system. They are transitional facilities with a goal of helping residents become more independent. Due to the high level of support for the residents, these programs have a higher level of staffing. The Registered Nurse (RN) for Secure Residential coordinates the provision of treatment for the shift and implements medical interventions.

The RN assumes responsibility for treatment decisions in keeping with RN licensure provisions and renders care prescribed by physicians and nurse practitioners, while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment.
