The Registered Nurse (RN) – CVOR provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures. The RN may function as a scrub and/or circulator and is responsible for maintaining a safe surgical environment, supporting the surgical team, and ensuring high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.
The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular operating room experience, excellent knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and instrumentation, and the ability to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies.

On-call is required and includes:
- Responding to cardiac emergencies
- Scrub responsibilities
- Circulator responsibilities
- Weekend coverage is required once per month
. - Weekend schedule:
Saturday 0600 – Monday 0600
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment.
- Travelers may be required to float to other units based on their skill set and facility needs.
- Healthcare professionals may be required to float between facilities to meet operational needs.
Floating may include:
- Milwaukie
- Newberg
- Portland
- Hood River
- Willamette Falls
- Seaside
- Saint Vincent
Seaside Floating: If a traveler booked at a non-Seaside facility is asked to float to Seaside, they will receive an additional $5/hour incentive for hours worked at Seaside, in addition to applicable IRS mileage reimbursement.
If consecutive shifts are required while floating, a hotel may additionally be provided. The facility will provide as much notice as possible for Seaside floating assignments.
