Travel RN - Med​/Surg - IV Therapy

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Vascular Access/IV Therapy RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of vascular access experience and a valid Compact RN license.

• Active RN license (Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• OR RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior vascular access and IV therapy experience required
• Experience with PICC lines, midline catheters, and central vascular access devices required
• Ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access skills required
• Experience with vascular access device complications and management required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Work on the IV Therapy Vascular Access Team in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating between units required, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
• No specific patient ratio requirements
• Night shift does not perform PICC placement
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Perform vascular access device insertion, management, and troubleshooting for adult inpatient and emergency department patients
• Conduct site and vessel selection, tip placement confirmation, and patency assessments
• Provide patient and family education on vascular access devices
• Perform aseptic technique, dressing changes, flushing, and catheter removal procedures
• Utilize imaging guidance and tip placement confirmation methods including chest X-ray, IC-ECG, and ultrasound
• Scrubs of any color accepted
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to starting the assignment
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the local rate
• Former employees may return after a 3-month waiting period if residing outside the 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role due to the need for a seasoned traveler
