Charge Nurse - Medical Surgical; General; KSMC

The Charge Nurse facilitates and assists with all levels of nursing care for a group of patients within one nursing unit during a working shift. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to take on leadership responsibilities while providing direct patient care.

• Assist in supervising nursing personnel and support the interviewing process for applicants.
• Provide input into staff evaluations and monitor performance of staff.
• Coordinate staff meetings under the direction of the Coordinator.
• Identify and communicate systems problems that interfere with effective client care.
• Participate in the development and implementation of standards of client care.
• Assess needs and priorities of patients and evaluate effectiveness of nursing care.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary patient care conferences and discharge planning activities.
• Assist in the development and presentation of in-service programs.
• Support departmental and organizational philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client and organizational records.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• High school diploma or GED

Experience:

• Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, one year in clinical specialty
• Experience in acute care or skilled nursing

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
• Basic Life Support certification required
