American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift Med/Surg RN with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment requiring an active Oregon or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and organizational need
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and high flow nasal cannula
• Experience managing isolation precautions and PPE
• Knowledge of IV insulin protocols, PCA, heparin, and insulin administration
• Experience with GI and GU care including colostomy management, feeding tubes, and bladder irrigation
• Experience with neurological and psychiatric conditions such as CVA and substance withdrawal
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care including wound care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Support rapid response and code team interventions as needed
• Scrub color is any color for Med/Surg units; OR/Cath Lab scrubs are facility-provided
• No parking fees at the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Radius requirement of 50 miles for local candidate classification
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
