American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN with ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification for a day-shift acute care assignment.
Details- Med/Surg Oncology unit in a short term acute care hospital
- 1:4 patient ratios
- Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
- Block scheduling required
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other units and sister facilities required based on skill set
- Epic EMR used
- Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at submission)
- BLS certification required
- ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy patients preferred
- Skilled in chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and management of oncologic emergencies
- Experience managing central lines, ports, and IV therapy/infusions
- Experience with symptom management for oncology patients
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments
- Manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome
- Monitor for and manage treatment-related symptoms including nausea, neuropathy, and altered mental status
- Any color scrubs permitted
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local
- Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
