Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric RN for a night shift Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit assignment requiring ventilator management skills and at least 1 year of pediatric experience.

Details
  • Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMC) providing intermediate level care for medical/surgical patients ages 0-18, excluding obstetric patients
  • Patient populations include non-ICU neurosurgical, video EEG and spectrum scan, peritoneal dialysis, chronic trach/ventilated patients, select hyperbilirubinemia, select cardiac surgery, research patients, and complex post-op patients including orthopedic spine, crani, and bladder augmentation cases
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required
  • Active OR RN license required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required
  • Ventilator management experience required
  • Charge RN experience preferred, with willingness to charge on some shifts if needed
  • Neurologic and respiratory/tracheostomy care skills required
  • ICP monitoring experience preferred
  • Dialysis or EVD experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required for consideration
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
  • Two manager or supervisor references from an employer within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
  • Work history verification covering the last seven years including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO required
Additional Information
  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients and families in alignment with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
  • Engage in an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making and teamwork
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mile radius restriction
  • Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must have been gone at least 6 months to return, and require a reference from their prior OHSU supervisor
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on position details
