American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN with ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification for a 3x12 day shift position with every-other-weekend requirements.
Details- Med/Surg Oncology unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
- Block schedule required
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between units and sister facilities required based on skill set
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active RN license (Compact or Oregon) in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy patients preferred
- Skills required in chemotherapy administration, IV therapy/infusions, port and central line care, and management of oncologic emergencies including ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
- Experience with symptom management including altered mental status, GI symptoms, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy via multiple routes including continuous infusion and oral administration
- Provide care and management of oncologic emergencies and treatment-related complications
- Perform chest tube care, neutropenic precautions, and comprehensive symptom management for oncology patients
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at the standard travel bill rate
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius unless accepted as a local candidate

- No parking fee
