American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU requiring 2+ years CVICU/post-op heart experience and an active OR RN license.
Details- Work in a 20-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Care for critically ill pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood, including cardiac, surgical, respiratory, hematology/oncology, and neurologic cases
- Perform bedside procedures including central line and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, and emergent operative procedures
- Utilize specialized equipment including Hamilton G5 Ventilators, Direct Link ICP Monitors, Arctic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxter Prismaflex Machines
- Charting is done in Epic
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Weekend requirement
- Floating within the hospital required, including to NICU and Pediatric Units
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license (Standard, Compact, or OR license accepted for submission)
- BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience with post-op heart experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of PICU experience
- Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted
- Provide bedside critical care to pediatric patients requiring the highest level of medical or post-surgical support
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacologists, and child life specialists
- Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day)
- No prints allowed on scrubs; scrubs provided for OR duties
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- All time off requests must be submitted upfront and limited to no more than 2 weeks
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers at OHSU must be separated for 6+ months before returning as a traveler
