Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland, Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Ophthalmology, supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

We are hiring Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our overnight ICU team! We are a team of compassionate, seasoned veterinary professionals who recognize the absolute necessity for a healthy hospital culture, high standard of patient care, and the value of team member wellbeing – and we are looking for people with the same values.

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency & Referral is looking for an experienced overnight Certified Veterinary Technician for our ICU department. We are currently seeking coverage for three 12-hour overnight shifts, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Triage and assessment of cases, including alerting the DVM of patients in critical conditions
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the DVM
  • Provide support and education to pet owners
  • Maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications
  • Valid certification as a veterinary technician in the state of Oregon (CVT)
  • Prior experience in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
  • Confident in life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, and urinary deobstruction
  • Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills; advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
  • Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients. Additional anesthesia training to be provided.
