Medical Laboratory Technician

As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. As an MLT, you contribute directly to the health of animals and the well‑being of their owners by providing accurate, timely diagnostic results. Your work supports veterinarians in delivering effective treatments and improves overall animal health across the globe.

You will use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses on blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy samples received daily. You will set up, run, and read lab tests, releasing results in accordance with SOPs. A specialist role may be assigned, with additional training provided as needed.

• You possess a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in a science‑related field is preferred.
• If you hold a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) certification, that experience is a plus.
• Ideally you have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, and clinical diagnostic analyzers.
• You maintain a positive, collaborative attitude and bring energy to the lab daily.
• You work well in a team environment and pay close attention to detail.
• You can meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, sitting for extended periods, phone and computer use, lifting up to 50 lb, and meeting specific vision requirements.
• You understand the potential exposure to biohazards, zoonotic agents, and hazardous chemicals in a laboratory setting.

• Target hourly rate: $28.00 /hr (includes shift differential)

• Regular work schedule:
  Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00 am – 8:30 pm, with a rotation every third Sunday
• Shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs
• Reliable attendance is an essential function of the position
