As our Safety Manager, you will be the key force driving a proactive, prevention‑focused safety culture across our Operating Company. You'll work side‑by‑side with leaders in Transportation, Warehouse Operations, HR, and more to ensure our associates, customers, and brand are protected every day.
Accident Prevention & Safety Leadership- Leading our accident‑prevention strategy with a strong focus on behavior‑based safety
- Conducting risk analysis, facility observations, ride‑alongs, and safety walks
- Running accident review committees and developing corrective action plans
- Driving engagement in safety programs, near‑miss reporting, and recognition initiatives
- Serving as the SME during serious incidents
- Owning DOT and FMCSA compliance, including driver files, HOS, CSA, and inspections
- Coaching CDL drivers in safe, compliant driving behaviors
- Investigating vehicle incidents and implementing prevention strategies
- Leading post‑accident, random, and reasonable‑suspicion testing programs
- Using telematics and dashcam analytics to reduce risk
- Ensuring OSHA compliance across all sites
- Conducting JHAs, audits, and facility safety inspections
- Supporting safe food distribution practices, including cold‑chain and dock safety
- Managing Workers' Compensation from first report through closure
- Leading investigations for injuries and near‑misses
- Partnering to control claim costs and improve associate outcomes
- Managing return‑to‑work and modified‑duty programs
- Tracking and reporting KPIs, including TRIR, DART, preventable accidents, and CSA metrics
- Updating policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
- Supporting litigation and documentation requirements
- Creating and delivering engaging safety training for associates and leaders
- Leading new‑hire safety orientation
- Coaching frontline leaders to champion safety accountability
- Promoting a 'see something, say something' culture
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years of occupational safety, health management, or related experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field
- 6-10 years of experience in safety management within the food service industry
- Transportation / Distribution Industry safety experience a plus
- Certifications such as CSP, ARM, or related credentials
