Position Summary:
The Bureau of Fleet and Facilities (BFF) is seeking a collaborative and knowledgeable Safety Program Administrator to lead and continuously improve workplace safety programs that support employees, contractors, tenants, and visitors across City facilities.
In this role, you will administer the bureau's Safety Management System by developing safety programs, coordinating training, conducting hazard assessments and incident investigations, monitoring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safety-first culture throughout Facilities operations. You will work closely with supervisors, managers, and employees to reduce risk, prevent injuries and illnesses, property damage and operational disruptions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and City safety requirements.
This is an essential position that may provide safety oversight during emergency operations and incident response activities.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve bureau-wide occupational safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs while tracking training compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Advise supervisors and managers on OSHA, Oregon OSHA, City safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- Analyze injury, illness, inspection, and compliance data to identify trends and recommend strategies that reduce organizational risk.
- Support emergency preparedness planning, including fire drills and building evacuations, safety committees, building renovation activities, contractors, and operational teams throughout Bureau of Fleet and Facilities locations.
- Prepare professional reports, recommendations, policies, and presentations for leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Foster collaborative partnerships that promote a proactive, safety-first culture across the organization.

- Remains calm and exercises sound judgment during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
