Technical Report Associate
Kelly is hiring a Technical Report Associate for a client in Portland, OR. This entry-level position supports laboratory operations by preparing accurate, customized technical reports based on completed testing records and customer requirements.
The Technical Report Associate is responsible for creating detailed reports, entering test data accurately, reviewing documentation, and ensuring reports meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role works closely with engineers, technicians, and internal teams to support timely and accurate delivery of technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Receive completed test records from internal testing labs and match them to the correct job folders.
- Create certification reports using Microsoft Word templates and previous job reports.
- Accurately capture test results and required information within customer reports.
- Review reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with testing specifications and requirements.
- Verify reports include appropriate test methods, qualifications procedures, and quality review approvals.
- Prioritize report completion based on customer deadlines, expedited requests, and business needs.
- Maintain organized job folders by customer and due date.
- Communicate with engineers, technicians, and report reviewers to clarify information and resolve questions.
- Perform purchase order quality reviews for high-volume customer jobs.
- Provide backup administrative support, including:
- Answering incoming calls
- Sending reports
- Maintaining filing systems
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of experience in administrative support, technical documentation, data entry, quality documentation, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to create professional, data-focused documents.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, quality, or technical environment.
- Experience with documentation control, reporting, or records management.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and internal teams.
- Light industrial testing facility environment.
- Primarily office-based work with extended periods of sitting.
- Occasional handling of filing boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment requiring accuracy and organization.
