Quality Control & Safety Manager Job Description

The Quality Control & Safety Manager oversees the quality of industrial products received from vendors and ensures all products comply with relevant regulatory and chemical compliance requirements. This role manages and works alongside a Quality Technician to perform inspections, drives a strong culture of quality and safety across the warehouse, and completes required safety and incident reports. The position is hands-on within a distribution environment and offers clear growth potential into engineering or mid-management roles, including broader responsibility for multiple facilities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is an established Quality Technician and ready to take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain the quality of products received from vendors, ensuring they meet internal standards and legal compliance requirements.
  • Perform and supervise inspection activities, working side-by-side with the Quality Technician on the warehouse floor.
  • Complete and manage regulatory compliance documentation, including forms for REACH, RoHS, CMRT, PFAS, Prop 65, TSCA, and USMCA chemical compliance.
  • Ensure all quality control processes align with applicable state regulations and client documentation requirements.
  • Create, promote, and lead a strong culture of quality and safety for all employees, particularly in the warehouse environment.
  • Support and participate in warehouse safety initiatives, including safety training and adherence to OSHA and EHS guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit smaller safety reports, incident reports, and investigations, complementing annual safety and OSHA reporting handled by the parent organization.
  • Coordinate and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and return material authorization (RMA) processes to address quality issues.
  • Document, track, and follow up on corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of quality or safety incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to complete compliance forms and respond to quality-related inquiries.
  • Leverage safety committee experience to contribute to continuous improvement in safety procedures and training.
  • Adapt to and respect the existing company culture, taking time to understand current processes before recommending improvements.
  • Contribute to long-term quality strategy with the potential to expand responsibilities to multiple facilities as the role grows.
Essential Skills
  • 2–5+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance at a technician and/or supervisory level.
  • Hands-on experience in quality inspection within an industrial or distribution environment.
  • Experience with safety programs, including participation on a safety committee.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and chemical compliance requirements such as REACH, RoHS, CMRT, PFAS, Prop 65, TSCA, and USMCA.
  • Experience completing compliance forms and documentation for clients and state regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and environmental health and safety (EHS) practices.
  • Experience with RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes.
  • Experience with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) and corrective action plans.
  • Ability to lead and influence a culture of quality and safety among warehouse and floor personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills for incident reports, investigations, and compliance forms.

Skills & Qualifications
  • ASQ certification preferred (such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician or similar).
  • Experience with ASQ methodologies and quality best practices.
  • Experience in safety training and EHS initiatives.
  • Experience with RoHS and other chemical compliance programs.
  • Interest in growing into an engineering or mid-management role over time.
Work Environment

This role is based in a distribution facility with a strongly hands-on focus. The Quality Control & Safety Manager spends significant time on the warehouse floor working directly with the Quality Technician and labor teams, inspecting industrial hoses and fittings and supporting day-to-day operations.
