About the Opportunity

The Roux Institute at Northeastern University (NU) and The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) invite a co‑mentored postdoctoral fellow for a joint Applied Data Science Postdoctoral Fellowship program focused on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).

Job Summary

The postdoc will contribute to and help lead projects involving the development and validation of precision health models that diagnose diseases and recommend optimal treatments. Working under the supervision of NU Research Professors and JAX investigators, the fellow will collaborate with experimental researchers at the Roux Institute and partners such as Northern Light Acadia Hospital and the University of Maine. Projects include evaluating plasma biomarkers in combination with retinal vascular health as early indicators of ADRD.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate machine learning and deep learning models for early detection of ADRD.
  • Integrate genomic, bioinformatic, and imaging data with retinal and blood biomarker measurements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute complementary human and mouse studies.
  • Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at scientific conferences.
  • Co‑mentor undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to grant writing efforts.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, particularly in Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision.
  • Familiarity with genomic and bioinformatic databases.
  • Strong record of publications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, innovative setting.

Pay Type:

108S. Expected hiring range: $60,315.00 – $85,192.50. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
