Postdoctoral Scholar

Location:

Portland, OR

Salary: $66,932.32 - $81,282.24 per year, based on experience, education, and internal equity.

FTE: 1.00.

Hours:

8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Position Type:
Regular Full-Time.

Initial appointment for one year, with a possibility of an additional year contingent on funding.

Department Overview

The Division of Informatics, Clinical Epidemiology and Translational Data Science (DICE) at OHSU offers a T15‑funded training grant. The postdoctoral fellow will engage in rigorous research under faculty mentorship, focusing on a substantial research project presented orally and in writing. Graduates apply informatics theory and tools to improve health and research. The fellow is supervised by the T15 Program Director, Dr.

Vishnu Mohan or a designate.

Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments in informatics areas under faculty mentorship.
  • Perform complex data analysis, normalization, and interpretation of experimental results.
  • Manage data using computer software, input and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain detailed logs of experimental procedures and analysis.
  • Stay current with literature, attend and present technical reports at meetings.
  • Deliver oral presentations of findings at scientific conferences.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications and assist mentors with grant activities.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD, MD, DDS, or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Able to learn new and innovative informatics concepts.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem‑solving, and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Independent work capability and positive professional role model.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hybrid work arrangement with primary office on OHSU campus.
Additional Requirements
  • Hybrid position on OHSU campus.
  • Physical ability to stand or sit for long periods; bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs; use computer equipment, phone, and office tools.
