Research Project Coordinator
The research project coordinator will coordinate and manage the Respectful Workplace Initiative (RWI) project funded by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. The primary purpose of RWI is to create research tools and training that contribute to respectful jobsite culture in Oregon's construction industry.
Function/Duties of Position
- Assist with overall project coordination for multi-year initiative, including data management, scheduling, management of SharePoint project website, deliverables, recruitment of companies, quarterly reporting, and other associated tasks.
- Perform research activities such as completion of surveys, statistical work, presentations to companies, and participation in RWI team meetings.
- Research and prepare written resources, including one-pagers, research briefs, worksheets, policy documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience; OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 1 year of relevant experience such as:
- Experience in occupational safety and health and/or the construction industry.
- Experience in data collection, management, and processing, including development of worksheets, policy documents, and reports.
- Experience and expertise in workplace or public health interventions (safety, health, or well-being).
- Ability to be self-motivated and achieve deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a small group setting.
- Ability to interact in a positive and productive manner with a diverse lab community.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and problem-solve to implement effective solutions.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Advanced knowledge of survey design, quality control metrics, and various survey packages.
- Experience with survey construction and general health or safety interventions.
- Experience involving a multiyear grant-/contract-funded research project.
- Demonstrated academic writing, proofreading, and presentation experience.
- Experience with intervention development or evaluation.
- Experience with project management tools including Excel, Sharepoint, One Drive, and Smartsheet.
Additional Details
Working hours of this position will vary but are typically weekday day shifts, with occasional evenings and weekends. Some teleworking may be negotiated.
