This full-time contract Archaeologist assignment will function as a Cultural Resource Specialist, providing professional support and assistance to the Historic Preservation (EH) organization at *** (BPA). This assignment will support BPA's Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) Cultural Resource Program, which requires substantial coordination between BPA and partner agencies (the US Army Corps of Engineers [USACE] and the Bureau of Reclamation [Reclamation]) to address cultural resources compliance pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), including attendance at and coordination of at least 16 meetings per year between BPA, USACE, Reclamation, tribes, state historic preservation offices, and land managing agencies.

The primary purpose of this assignment is to provide professional knowledge in the inventory, evaluation, protection and management of prehistoric and historic resources. This assignment will require the ability to balance and prioritize multiple assigned projects and interact with a wide variety of BPA internal personnel and management, as well as federal, state, and tribal officials and other interested parties.

Education & Corresponding Experience (required on matrix):
Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or directly-related field is preferred. Bachelor of Arts or Science in Archaeology, Anthropology or directly-related field is required. With an applicable Bachelor's or Master's degree, 5 years' professional work experience or equivalent specialized training in archaeological research, administration or management is required.

Required Technical Skills & Experience (required on matrix): 6 months of supervised field and analytic experience in BPA's service territory (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Wyoming). Working knowledge of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); demonstrated experience with and/or knowledge of Section 106 of the NHPA. Extensive experience in conducting archaeological field inventories and producing written technical reports.

Valid U.S. Driver's License is required. First Aid/AED/CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start. Worker/Employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.
