Seasonal Retail Cashier & Salesfloor - Portland

Responsibilities

• Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions while delivering excellent customer service.
• Keep service quick, easy and fun by listening to customer needs and sharing a love for fashion.
• Maintain the department "runway ready" by straightening up, lightly cleaning and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
• Stay current on key fashion trends and products to help customers with purchase decisions.
• Build relationships with customers by informing them about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
• Provide flexible support to other areas of the store, including order fulfillment and order pick‑up.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests from customers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with computers and a desire to learn new applications.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Handle bulky or awkwardly shaped items, reaching and lifting items above the head and lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.

$19.15 – $19.95 hourly. Pay may vary by location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
