Department Lead

As a Department Lead at Smart Food service Stores LLC (US Foods CHEF'STORE), you oversee daily operations for your assigned area in our warehouse-style retail store. You'll lead and coach a small team, ensure shelves are stocked and merchandised, manage inventory and signage accuracy, and maintain a clean, safe environment. You'll model fast, friendly service for food service professionals, small businesses, and home chefs while supporting store goals and cross-functional tasks in a dynamic, growth-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily retail operations for assigned department in a warehouse-format store
• Supervise, train, and schedule team members to meet service and productivity goals
• Maintain accurate inventory, merchandising standards, and signage
• Ensure safe, clean, and efficient work areas in alignment with company policies
• Deliver excellent customer service to food service professionals and small businesses
• Support ordering, receiving, and stocking of bulk groceries and supplies
• Monitor department performance metrics and report issues to store management
• Assist with onboarding and cross-training team members across store functions
