Spin Laundry Lounge, a leading eco-friendly laundromat with two locations in Portland, is currently seeking experienced individuals to join our team as Laundry Attendants. We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in customer service and a genuine passion for sustainability. As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers with selecting washer and dryer features, explaining payment options, and highlighting the eco-friendly and cost-effective benefits of our state-of-the-art machines.

In addition to providing excellent customer service, Laundry Attendants will be responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting environment for our customers. This includes keeping the Laundromat, Soap Shop, and surrounding areas clean and organized. Laundry Attendants will also be responsible for handling washing, drying, and folding smaller Wash & Fold orders as well as larger commercial orders in a timely manner.

We are looking for a part time-employee. Per our collective bargaining agreement, a part time employee is guaranteed twenty hours per week, and offers an availability of seven shifts per week over five days of availability - three of those shifts are required to be closes (additional availability is desirable).

This role is guaranteed to work weekends. This role will also require Monday close availability. Spin is open from 8AM-8PM everyday.

The Laundry Attendant role can include potential exposure to common allergens through laundry and will involve working in locations that do not have air conditioning.

This position will be a Union job. We are proud to be a part of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU Local
5).

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing exceptional customer service.

Assist customers with operating washers and dryers.

Wash, dry, and fold laundry according to instructions.

Ensure the Laundromat is clean and well-maintained by cleaning surfaces, furniture, restrooms, floors, and laundry equipment.

Process orders and handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system.

Stay busy and productive during shifts, as there is little downtime in this fast-paced environment.

Applicants must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States and should be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
