Flagship Assistant Store ManagerSUMMARY
The Assistant Store Manager is an on-the-floor leader, an active sales associate, and works in conjunction with the Store Director to manage store operations. This role is designed to be a key operations contributor and clearly focused on the customer experience, daily execution, and support for initiatives set forth by Corporate and the Store Director. Assistant Store Managers should be enthusiastic and passionate about customer service, running a retail business, people development, and the craft/brand.
Supports and develops sales associates’ customer service skills and inspires the team so that everyone working in the store serves as a true ambassador for Tandy Leather.
The Assistant Store Manager works in partnership with the Store Director and sales associates to create an environment where everyone delivers great service and provides knowledge and insight into leather crafting and Tandy Leather products.
The Assistant Store Manager drives success by being a role model and will be responsible for training and motivating the store employees, providing superior customer service, and consistently executing operational functions as per company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Retail Store Operations & Sales- Develop retail management knowledge and experience to support sales plans and company objectives.
- Drive sales by identifying opportunities and communicating them to the Store Director.
- Create emotional connections with customers and the store team, enhancing sales and engagement.
- Spends majority of time in the retail store, actively participating in daily operations.
- Partner with the Store Director to ensure flawless execution of operational policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Proactively monitor store scheduling and controllable expenses with the Store Director.
- Maintain store safety standards, identifying and resolving maintenance issues as needed.
- Communicate customer feedback, bestsellers, business trends, and recommendations to the Store Director.
- Lead by example, coaching, developing, mentoring, and inspiring the team to enhance store performance.
- Support and grow sales associates, encourage teamwork, and retain talent through a development and teaching-focused environment.
- Create an inspirational and motivating work environment that reflects the brand's integrity.
- Develop customer relationships through interaction and feedback.
- Act as an ambassador for the Tandy Leather brand.
- Build the Tandy Leather brand by consistently executing brand standards and enhancing the retail experience.
- Continually coach and develop the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
- Stay adept at leather crafting skills through continuous practice and staying updated on new trends.
- Teach store employees and customers Tandy leather crafting techniques, ensuring they are knowledgeable brand ambassadors.
- Continuously learn about Tandy leather products to provide informed recommendations based on customer needs.
- Capability to step into a Store Director role upon a Store Director vacancy within a single store location or local market.
- Demonstrates expertise in retail store operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Customer service and/or retail sales experience.
