Position Overview
Area Director of Business Development at LHC Group, a leading post-acute care partner for hospitals, physicians, and families nationwide. As a member of the Optum family of businesses, we are dedicated to helping people feel their best and building meaningful connections within our community. The Director of Business Development will lead the agency to achieve revenue, census, and start-of-care growth targets, drive the Sales and Marketing plan, build relationships with referral sources, and support overall organizational growth.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Hire, direct, train, and supervise the sales team at the agency level
- Coach employees to overcome objections and work toward growth goals
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of community resources and provide education to the sales team
- Communicate with healthcare professionals about prospective and current patients
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the community to promote hospice philosophy and support
- Assist the Director of Admissions in overseeing the referral‑to‑admissions process to achieve growth goals
- Demonstrated solid computer skills to meet Microsoft Outlook and CRM software requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self‑motivated
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare sales
- Knowledge of home health or hospice care
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to coach and develop Account Executives and communicate effectively with branch and clinical staff to foster a growth environment
Salary ranges from $88,992 to $133,488 annually based on full-time employment. The compensation package includes a comprehensive benefits program, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
