SUMMARY:
The Account Specialist (field-based; reporting to the Region Director) builds and manages long-term relationships with physicians and other customers in an assigned territory. This hybrid role provides access support and education while delivering promotional messages for Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) and Donidalorsen. Supports healthcare provider offices with access support in a compliant manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Educate HCPs and office staff on Donidalorsen (brand messages, efficacy, safety) using approved materials
- Educate on Donidalorsen access process, including payer coverage policies and common challenges
- Provide patient access status updates via tokenized CRM patient hub data
- Raise HAE awareness and encourage appropriate urgent treatment
- Create positive prescribing and access support experiences; educate on Ionis patient services offerings
- Participate in scientific meetings to educate on HAE disease state and treatment
- Gather account insights; understand local market dynamics and payer/reimbursement barriers
- Identify and document potential HCPs treating HAE (primarily allergists)
- Develop and execute customer-focused territory account plans; adjust tactics to meet goals
- Participate in field training; certify on label, compliance training, and customer engagement policies
- Collaborate cross-functionally; share learnings; use multi-channel platforms; partner on multi-specialty accounts
- Valid U.S. driver's license and compliant driving record
- Bachelor's degree + at least 12 years related experience
- Master's/advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD) + at least 8 years related experience
- 4+ years in Pharma sales and/or Field Reimbursement/access roles (rare diseases/product launches; HCP/IDN engagement; cross-functional coordination; launch experience; reimbursement/access education)
- Strong understanding of healthcare ecosystem, market access, and payer policies for rare disease products
- Analytical skills; self-driven, compliant problem-solving
- Excellent communication/presentation; proven record meeting targets; knowledge of relevant laws/codes/policies
- Pay scale: $177,000 to $195,000
