Business Development, Sales Manager, Director of Sales, Account Manager
The Director of Sales – Food service is a player/coach role accountable for delivering profitable revenue growth at Oregon Fruit Company. You'll personally lead strategic account development — owning key operator and distributor relationships — while coaching a food service sales team to execute with discipline, urgency, and accountability.
This is the leader who turns channel strategy into measurable results and helps establish Oregon Fruit as THE fruit-for-beverage brand in food service
. You'll hit net sales and margin targets, grow penetration with new accounts, expand points of distribution across national and regional distributors, and influence customers, brokers, and internal partners across the value chain.
In short: you sell and you build. Big deals close because of you, and a stronger team closes them because of your coaching.
Who You areYou've spent a decade-plus in food & beverage sales, and you can talk operator and distributor strategy in your sleep. But more than your resume, here's what actually makes you you:
- You're a hunter first. Prospecting, qualifying, advancing, closing — you love the chase and you finish the kill. A full pipeline is oxygen to you.
- You're a builder of people. You've led sales teams and you get genuine energy from coaching a rep to a win they didn't think they could land.
- You think in margin, not just revenue. You know a top-line number can lie. You read the P&L, model the forecast, and protect profitability like it's your own money.
- You're calm under pressure and impossible to rattle. Big negotiation, tough operator, high-stakes tradeshow floor — you stay courteous, sharp, and in control.
- You connect the dots across the business. Marketing, brand, finance, ops — you know that great commercial results come from great cross-functional partnership, not solo heroics.
- You're comfortable with the road. Up to 50% travel, occasional weekends, and you wouldn't have it any other way — because relationships get built face-to-face.
We believe in setting people up to win, so here's the honest picture of your ramp:
Days 1–30 — Learn the business, love the fruit. You'll get deep on our products, our food service playbook, and our Annual Operating Plan targets. You'll meet your team one-on-one, sit in on live accounts, and start building relationships with our top operators and distributors. By day 30, you'll know where the pipeline stands and where the biggest opportunities hide.
Days 31–60 — Diagnose and prioritize. You'll inspect the pipeline with a critical eye, assess each rep's book of business, and identify the accounts worth doubling down on. You'll start owning key national and regional relationships yourself, refine (or rebuild) strategic account plans, and set the leading and lagging indicators the team will be measured against.
Days 61–90 — Lead from the front. You'll be personally advancing high-value deals, running joint business plans with priority accounts, and coaching your team through their own opportunities. Your reporting cadence to senior leadership will be locked in, your forecast will be driver-based and defensible, and the team will feel the shift toward discipline, urgency, and accountability. In short: you'll be driving, not just settling in.
