Operations Management, Account Manager
Location: Role is onsite M-F at our facility in Tualatin, OR
Who We AreMachine Sciences is the leading edge of the machining supply chain for America's space, defense, and aerospace industries — build-to-print manufacturers carrying the hardest parts of mission-critical OEMs from first prototype through full-rate production. Our capital is measured but decisive: deliberate about where it goes, unhesitating once the case is made, and always deployed with growth in mind. That is why we invest ahead of demand — in machines, in capacity, in people — rather than waiting for an award to justify the spend.
We are also one business inside a vertically integrated platform of mature manufacturing companies, with capabilities from machining through finishing under common ownership, so we control more of our own supply chain and more of our own schedule than the shops we compete against. The result is growth that compounds faster than a conventional operation could absorb, and a plant that must be scaled deliberately rather than reactively.
We did not arrive here by accident, and we are not content to stay here.
About the RoleWe're looking for a hands-on sales leader to take our high-performing team to the next level. If you're a self-starting, forward-thinking problem-solver who thrives on building relationships, developing people, and driving growth in a premium aerospace and defense manufacturing environment, this is your rocketship opportunity.
As a key member of the Management Team, you'll lead our Sales and Marketing efforts for a growing precision manufacturing company. This role is heavily focused on team development and customer success, nurturing and growing relationships with the customers our outside sales team brings through the door, while also owning pipeline, forecasting, and CRM optimization. You'll manage a team of 7 (growing to 9 this year), including Key Account Managers, a Program Manager, and an Estimator, and you'll partner cross-functionally with operations on capacity planning and premium pricing.
This is a backfill role after the prior leader's promotion. We've added significant new capacity and refined our business model, and now we need the right leader to accelerate revenue growth in a fragmented market of approximately 10,000 machine shops. Given the strength of our existing team and processes, we're looking for someone who takes the time to understand our people, culture, and business before introducing changes, and who builds buy-in across departments as they grow into the role.
