To be successful as an Armed Security Officer, you must be able to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills while under pressure and constantly be evaluating the lawful application of your use of force tools (i.e. OC Spray). Ultimately, an outstanding Armed Security Officer will seek to expand their legal knowledge and self-defense training beyond the state-mandated minimum level. Possessing the ability to speak foreign language(s) is a bonus.

Primary

Job Duties:

• Protect our clients/properties
• Inspect client sites & properties
• Answer calls dispatched via phone and/or radio
• Routinely contact/interact with members of the public
• Contact Law Enforcement/First Responders when necessary

Armed Security Officer Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Current and valid Armed DPSST Security Professional Certification
• Current and valid Driver’s License
• Able to read, write, and speak English as required by DPSST
• Clear criminal record as required by DPSST
• Strong commitment to the well‑being of others
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under duress
• Neat, professional appearance
• Capacity to work on your feet for extended periods
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Stand, walk, run, bend, and lift 50 lbs + while wearing a vest, duty belt, baton, OC spray, etc.

We will provide training at no cost to you. While we do require all candidates to possess their own equipment prior to joining our team, we will provide regular assessments and refreshers to ensure that each officer is certified to use the tools they carry on a daily basis.

Armed Security Officers’ pay starts at $26/hr with a current armed DPSST certification ($25/hr without). Based on factors including time-in-company and continued good standing, an Armed Officer would be able to advance in $1/hr increments until capping out at $32/hr.
