Unarmed Security Specialist - Portland

An Unarmed Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring premises, enforcing security policies, and responding to security incidents. You do not carry firearms but may use other non-lethal security equipment.

Days, Swings, and Nights available Sunday - Saturday (7 days a week).

• High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or training)
• State-issued security officer license (unarmed)
• Previous security experience is often preferred but not always required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and make sound judgments
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Attention to detail and observation skills

• Conduct routine patrols of the designated area to deter criminal activity and ensure safety.
• Monitor and control access points, checking identification and ensuring only authorized individuals enter.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment.
• Document security incidents, accidents, and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide assistance and information to visitors and employees, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Enforce security protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Administer first aid and CPR if required and trained to do so.
• Work with other security personnel and emergency services as needed.
